Keep increasing prices on server, I'm costumer for many years, just lazy to move the VM to other place, but enough is enough.
They recently increase the price, I expressed frustration and said unless they bring it down(because it is already 6 years old server :)), I'm switching, they replied and thanked my for submitting closing request and that my server will be deleted soon :)
I didn't submit the request, just said I will be moving my stuff over the weekend. This is just a terrible customer support.
Iweb.com keeps charging even though they can't get the server to work
I tried migrating to a new server. No matter what we did the website would not work. It worked fine on the old server. It just won't work on their new one. So after going back and forth many times with their support team that kept on blaming our website we finally tried it on a new server somewhere else. It worked fine. So it works on their old server and the new server somewhere else. It just won't work on Iwebs new server. While this is going on I paid the old server an extra month, the new server and before the situation is solved they charged another month on the new server. So now I'm out 3 months billing in total with nothing working plus 30 hours of labor costs. I explain all this to them they offer me two weeks credit. I escalate to a senior manager and he agrees backs the decision for a two-week credit. In total, I'm out $1700.00 with nothing and they offer me $125.00 credit. The clearly don't care about their customers. I've been with them for over 10 years.
WOW. Talk about taking advantage of a customer. I've been with them for years. Not anymore unless they resolve this issue.
I've been renting a dedicated server from them for over 5 years. At first they offered a good price, but now the support became bad, and their prices are not competitive anymore, so I've changed the provider. I've got a server for less money and no issues from a different provider.
There's one curious thing. Each time I've rented a server from them, the hard drive failed in the first month or so (all data was lost). It looked like a scam - they offered me an expensive add-on for hard drive backups. I didn't buy the add-on, my hard drive failed with all data lost. This happened twice, both times I've rented a server from iWeb. Thankfully I've been doing my own backup to my NAS. Maybe it's a coincidence, I don't know... but looks fishy.
My experience with iWeb over the last 10 years is a sad story of diminished service and volatile pricing. Tech support us OK technically but lacking in urgency. Customer service used to be quite good. But the last five years has turned the place into a money mill. If you aren't willing to give them a long term contract, you won't get any assistance in pricing. The biggest problem there is billing. If they incorrectly bill for something or you seek a credit, getting resolution is very difficult. Unlike AWS, Azure, Rackspace, etc, iWeb does not focus on customer satisfaction as much and will not err on the side of the customer. With so many providers focused on customer satisfaction, we had to finally pull the plug on iWeb. I suspect their future is limited if they don't change their ways.
For real, their servers are expensive, you can't contact support as they want a fee for each ticket, the servers had almost weekly down times. And their "satisfaction guarantee" is only to make you think you have a chance to get your money back if something goes wrong - in reality they will try to sue you. Stay away!
We have been with Iweb almost 1 year and left by desperation. They are expensive service they have servers and the worst customer care ever. If you are in EU they start offering assistance in the afternoon. They also closed my account leaving us without service for more than 3 hours without reason. No refund was placed. Avoid them. Google and Amazon offers much better service at a much reasonable price.
I've been with iWeb since 2012. I haven't ran into many issues with my dedicated server but when I have they've always been prompt to reply to my e-mails and fix whatever the issue is if I can't handle it myself. I need to upgrade to a new server and thought I'd shop around a bit (hence why I'm on this review site) but I'm thinking to myself why even bother looking? I'll just stick with iWeb, they've proven to me over the years that they're super reliable.
